Blanes
on the Costa Brava is an interesting little resort which is very handy for Barcelona (train every half hour, 5 UK pounds for a return fare) giving easy access to Girona, Dali Museum, boats to LLoret and Tossa etc.
Three flats are available. Also B&B is available in a 100-year old house at a price so low I can't believe it! It's not a tarted up place - the rooms have high ceilings and style, adjacent shower/WC for every two rooms,
use of a fridge and a pleasant roof terrace, and less than two minutes to
the sea, markets and taxi and bus terminal.
We have had no feedback about this property during the past year and are ceasing to market it.

Blanes is a resort that has something for all ages. Children and adults alike will enjoy it. The beaches and seas are clean and there is a vibrant weekly market for all to enjoy. All bars and restaurants cater to a variety of tastes and children are allowed in most. All the streets are clean, tidy and well maintained and its policing is second to none. The crime rate is very low also which means that you can walk around without feeling the constant threat of mugging or personal attack. My Husband and I spent 6 months in Blanes and after the first 2 weeks, felt as though we'd lived there all out lives, the people are so friendly. There are many mixtures of race in Blanes, from Dutch to French, a lot of the businesses there being Dutch owned. The shops are second to none, opening from 9-2 p.m. and then again at 5-9 p.m. daily. Blanes is only 40 mins away from Barcelona, another fabulous city. We came away from Blanes reluctantly, and will definitely go back there, a place not to be missed.
