THE PRIVATE HOLIDAY VILLA

The villa is both charming and impressive, occupying a commanding position on the hillside of San Jaime. The villa has a spacious and cosy lounge with digital TV, fireplace and fans, making it suitable for year-round holidays and rental.



The attractive kitchen dinner is fully fitted and conveniently has direct access to the pool and terraces, making it very easy to keep an eye on the children and to serve meals outside on the patio or enjoy a barbecue without having to walk miles to get a forgotten item having just sat down. Tomato ketchup for the children springs to mind :-)


The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freeze, microwave and washing machine, so all holiday essentials are easily taken care of.

Pool and terraces and the beach at Son Bou

The rental villa has a BBQ area, pergola and terraces. There is also an outside shower, handy for the pool, as well as patio furniture and sun loungers. The villa is close to all local amenities and the beach of Son Bou.

Three double bedrooms and two additional fold-up beds means this large villa can accommodate from 6-8 guests.

Holidays with babies and young children

This villa is ideal for family holidays, and to reduce your check-in luggage, a travel cot, high chair and push chair are available. Also... to keep children amused (when not in the pool or on the beach at Son Bou) there is also a large chest of outdoor toys.

SON BOU SAN JAMIE

Son Bou is about a 20 minute drive from the airport at Mahon on the South coast of Menorca. Car hire can be arranged.

ES CASTELL

The small relaxed town of Es Castell is well worth a visit when staying at Son Bou. It is the most easterly town in Spain and is therefore the first to catch the morning sun.The town has a distinct colonial feel which is reflected in its architecture. It was once named Georgetown by the British during one of its occupations under George III.

Es Castell offers the visitor a memorable evening out with its seafood restaurants and local tapas bars in Callas Fonts harbour. There is a very special atmosphere to the harbour during the evening.

MAHON

Mahon the capital with all its shopping, port, fine food markets and nightlife. The foodie will not go wrong at this end of the island as there is an abundance of high quality restaurants throughout the surrounding area. From rural San Lluis to the port and centre of Mahon, they are all easily accessible from the rental villa by car or taxi. It is well worth hiring your own car and finding the secluded beaches and historic towns throughout this island



The former parade ground - Placa Esplanada - is now the main square and is overlooked by the elegant clock tower and military barracks.


This is now a museum which answers many of the questions this fascinating little town throws at you.

There is so much going on throughout the Summer, in addition to all the usual water sport activities such as sailing and windsurfing. You could try one of the local riding schools, or go and have a punt on the trotting races held at the aerodrome. There is even a cricket match on Saturday where the MCC Menorca cricket club have an impressive cricket pitch and friendly club bar. If this seems all too familiar you could always sample the famous gin at the local distillery. There are art galleries, sandal makers and many other local crafts.



The island also has more than its fair share of megalithic sites such as the prehistoric village of Trepuco - it's hard to know where to stop!
